A box of plain mash potatoes has 8 ingredients, not counting the butter and salt added in after its made and is full of preservatives and additives. No thank you. When I drastically reduced my consumption of boxed foods, I was amazed at how much better I felt. I lost weight without trying, had more energy and stopped feeling so fatigued in the afternoons. Now, I am not against ever eating boxed foods; we occasionally eat boxed foods today, but 90% of the time I cook from-scratch.
Preservatives and additives, especially man-made have been linked to everything from behavioral problems to headaches, to increased risks of cancers and other heath problems. The high sodium levels in boxed foods are bad for our health.
The truth is that when we stray from God's plan for our diets, the results are never healthful, and so this month's challenge is to take that next step in removing boxed foods from your diet. You don't need to go cold-turkey. If you eat boxed foods daily, commit to making fresh food half of the time. Whatever you can do, just take that next step and work your way up to eating fresh foods at least 90% of the time. You can do it! And your family deserves it.
